HIWASTE MFG. are expanding! We specialize in flipping and selling classic cars, luxury cars, commercial trucks, and heavy equipment - alongside full restorations, custom builds, and mechanical upgrades. We're looking for a highly skilled Lead Mechanic with deep experience in both gas and diesel vehicles who’s ready to take the lead on high-end builds and full teardown-to-showroom restorations.
Compensation & Benefits:What You’ll Do:
Lead and perform full vehicle disassembly and reassembly of classic cars, commercial trucks, and luxury vehicles.
Install and upgrade gas and diesel engines.
Install and upgrade automatic and manual transmissions.
Complete suspension system upgrades, including lift/lowering kits and custom work.
Install or retrofit power steering systems.
Perform brake system upgrades (disc conversions, performance braking systems).
Install modern air conditioning systems in older vehicles.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and test completed builds for safety and performance.
Source, research, and order parts for restoration and upgrade projects.
Provide labor and parts estimates for restoration or custom work projects.
Collaborate with fabricators, painters, and upholstery specialists to complete builds.
Maintain a high standard of workmanship and ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.
What We’re Looking For:
5+ years of hands-on experience as a mechanic, with a focus on customs, full restorations, and rebuilds.
Proven experience with gas and diesel engine installs, suspensions, transmissions, brakes, steering, and A/C.
Solid understanding of classic and modern vehicles, commercial trucks, and heavy equipment.
Comfortable creating parts lists, working with suppliers, and submitting accurate estimates.
Excellent mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills.
Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented with strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
Must have your own tools appropriate for automotive work (shop provides heavy equipment & specialty tools).
