Job Description:

We are currently seeking a highly experienced Oracle Database Administrator to support our state government client based in Columbus, Ohio . The ideal candidate will have 12+ years of hands-on experience managing complex Oracle environments with a strong focus on Oracle RAC, RMAN, Data Guard , and AIX OS .

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a senior Oracle DBA supporting mission-critical databases in AIX environments (version 7.x or higher).
• Install, configure, and maintain Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) .
• Set up and manage Oracle RMAN for backup and recovery operations.
• Configure and maintain Oracle Data Guard (physical and logical standby) and Active Data Guard (ADG) with Data Guard Broker.
• Conduct in-depth database performance tuning and application SQL tuning , especially within RAC environments.
• Implement and manage Oracle ASM (Automatic Storage Management), with at least 4 years of RAC-specific experience.
• Provide support throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) .
• Perform in-place upgrades and patch management across Oracle and RAC environments.
• Design and implement database models for enterprise applications.
• Develop and maintain PL/SQL code to support application requirements.
• Write and maintain shell scripts in AIX/Unix environments.
• Utilize snapshot cloning technologies using Oracle ACFS (with RAC and standby databases preferred).
• Use tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) Suite , Grid Control , TOAD , and Oracle SQL Developer for database monitoring and management.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 12+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA.
• Strong background working in AIX operating systems (version 7.x or higher).
• Proven experience setting up and supporting Oracle RAC .
• Advanced experience with RMAN , Oracle ASM , and Data Guard/ADG .
• Solid understanding of SQL performance tuning and troubleshooting .
• Experience with database upgrade and patching processes , especially in RAC environments.
• Familiarity with data modeling , application design , and PL/SQL development .
• Expertise in shell scripting and automation within Unix/AIX.
• Experience with Oracle ACFS for snapshot cloning (preferred).
• Proficiency in using OEM, Grid Control, TOAD , or other similar tools.

Nice to Have:

• Prior experience working with state government clients .
• Willingness to relocate to Columbus, OH if needed.

Additional Information:

• This is a remote position with possible future relocation based on client need.
