The Annual Fund Manager’s primary role is to cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors to generate $1MM in revenue and grow their donor portfolio year over year. The manager will actively solicit financial gifts—whether through direct asks, meetings, or phone calls—and ensure that donors understand the impact of their contributions. The manager needs to have a strong comfort level to make these “asks”, using persuasive communication skills to engage individuals, build trust, and ultimately secure donations. The role requires a passion for Habitat’s mission and values, confidence, tact, and a strategic mindset to meet fundraising goals.
The Annual Fund Manager is also responsible for managing mail and email campaigns for all Annual Fund and Major Donors. This includes collaboration with the Marketing team to draft, edit, and send out content throughout the year. This position is also responsible for completing mail mergers and email mergers and printing high volumes of letters throughout the year.
This role includes some administrative support and project execution to support the individual giving team. Active use of database(s) is required to track all donor activity, maintain donor records, and provide stewardship to ensure long-term relationships. In addition, the Manager will support the team and engage donors around select event planning and execution and conduct prospect research.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Development

* Primary owner of the Annual Fund giving from individual donors (e.g., donors that generally give up to $2,000/year).
* Manage a portfolio of major prospects and donors who generally give up to $5,000/year.
* Broadly responsible for managing all levels of Direct Marketing including Habitat for Humanity. International (HFHI), and Habitat Metro Denver (HFHMD) list pulls, ask amounts, mail and e-appeal campaigns, for Annual Fund, Major Donors and Planned Giving donors and prospects
* Strategize and be a thought-partner with the Head of Leadership Giving around individual giving opportunities and assist with other activities in the Resource Development department as needed.

Project Management
* Work in partnership with the Head of Leadership Giving to conduct research, analyze progress, guide and execute individual giving strategies including support for special events.
* Cultivate, solicit, and steward donors throughout the entire fundraising cycle.
* Provide training, direction, and data to volunteers and staff to provide stewardship thank you calling, notecard writing and donor research efforts.
* Coordinate all efforts related to mail and email appeals to ensure content is sent out on schedule, including the printing of direct mail campaigns.
* Work with Head of Leadership Giving to track all planning giving documentation, execute communication strategy and assist with cultivation activities
* Process and track capital campaign gifts and gift reminders.
* Stock donation oversight e.g., sale of stock, request reimbursements, and tailored acknowledgement tax receipts.
* Knowledge and oversight of Habitat for Humanity International’s (HFHI) Car Donation program promotion, HFHI’s and HFHMD’s Monthly Donor programs, and Colorado Gives Day.
* Coordinate Colorado workplace giving campaigns, including annual applications and registration.
* Be content expert around HFHI’s Collaborative Fundraising efforts.
* Assist with special projects as required to help fulfill our mission.

Data Entry and Data Management
* Document all donor-related activity in Raiser’s Edge for portfolio management in a timely, accurate and thorough manner.
* Create, maintain, and continually improve the gift appeal tracking system to ensure useful data for the future around Individual donors.

Collaboration and Communication
* Collaborate with development and marketing teams to innovate new strategies for donor solicitations and stewardship aimed at growing donor retention and engagement.
* Create proposals and complete assigned solicitations to secure financial gifts.
* In coordination with volunteers, provide administrative support related to Individual Donors and database management.
* Other administrative duties as required to help fulfill our mission in alignment with our Cultural Blueprint values.

REQUIREMENTS:
* Lived experience and/or structured education in public relations, communications, philanthropic or religious studies, or a similar field could be beneficial in this role.
* 2+ years of successful experience in development at a nonprofit or related field.
* Experience with mail appeals highly preferred.
* Full proficiency in the MS365 Suite, especially Excel.
* Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM database proficiency preferred.
* Monday.com or similar project management software preferred
* Experience working with, and overseeing, volunteers is a plus.
* A strong belief in the mission of Habitat for Humanity and in the people and neighborhoods with whom we partner.
* Ability to independently seek solutions but also work well in a team-based environment.
* Excellent attention to detail with the ability to write, proofread, and self-edit content.
* Strong communication skills; oral and written.
* Strong collaboration skills to coordinate across teams and departments.
* Ability to work independently and appropriately prioritize workload to meet schedules and deadlines.
* An inquisitive nature and the ability to acquire and assemble information and data that isn’t always readily available.
* A passion for fundraising, comfort in making the ask, and the confidence to take full ownership of donor portfolio management.
* Ability and desire to engage in conversations with donors via phone/email/face-to-face.
* High comfort level with public speaking.
* Ability to respond accurately and thoroughly to donor inquiries.
* Most work is performed indoors at a desk in a shared office or meeting setting, with the ability to work remotely at times.
* Ability to talk on the phone and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
* Hybrid work model - minimum 2 days/week at a Habitat location (Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday), with ability to work from home the other days) During the first 6-9 months of employment additional days in the office will be required to learn the role, build critical interdepartmental connections, and strengthen the development team’s vision, strategy, and cohesiveness.
* Some work outside of traditional office hours (evenings and weekends) will be required to attend meetings, events, etc.
* The ability to travel to and from meetings and appointments in locations and times when public transportation is unavailable.
* A valid driver’s license and ability to be insured under the company’s insurance policy is a prerequisite; driving is required. A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be run for insurance purposes.
* Able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds when necessary.

Habitat’s office where this position will report to is 430 S Navajo St, Denver, CO 80223.

The anticipated starting annual compensation range is $56,000 - $70,000 for the position. New hires are typically brought into the organization between the minimum to midpoint of the salary range posted depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. FLSA Status will be determined by the starting compensation based on applicable state minimum for exempt status. The full salary range for this position is: $55,400 - $75,400.
